Court Services

Court Services


Court Services provides facilities for the courts, as well as administrative and support services to the judiciary and other participants in the Yukon court system. Services that assist with the collection of child support orders and amounts owed under civil court orders are also handled through Court Services.

  • The Courts
    Information on the Territorial Court, Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Small Claims Court, Federal Court, court circuit calendar, and court clerks.
  • Domestic Violence Treatment Option Court
    The DVTO Court’s restorative approach provides a non-adversarial way to hold offenders accountable and provide them with treatment while providing the victim with counseling, support and safe opportunities to monitor and be involved in their partner’s treatment. The goal of the court is to reduce domestic violence through offender rehabilitation and family and community healing.
  • Community Wellness Court
    The CWC is a therapeutic court model that works with offenders to address the underlying causes of their offending behaviour. Individuals who choose to take part in the court receive support and counseling to deal with any addictions, mental health or cognitive issues such as FASD.
  • Sheriff's Office
    The Sheriff's Office provides court security, manages juries, ensures that court orders directed to the Sheriff are carried out and serves civil and criminal documents throughout the Yukon.
  • Witness Administration Program
    The Witness Administration Program provides support services for Crown witnesses subpoenaed to appear in Territorial or Supreme Court.
  • Yukon Public Law Library
    Open to all members of the public, the library is located in the Law Courts building in Whitehorse. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.
  • Court Registries
    There are court registries in Whitehorse, Dawson City and Watson Lake. Court registries can receive court ordered payments, provide information on actions proceeding in court and court filings.
  • Jury duty
    A jury summons is a court order. If you receive a jury summons you must attend at the time and place stated so that a jury can be selected.
  • Trial Coordinator
    The Trial Coordinator deals with matters related to the planning, coordinating and scheduling of a wide variety of types of trials, hearings and applications for both the Yukon Supreme and Territorial Courts.
  • Notaries Public
    Information on Yukon Notaries Public Program. Includes a list of active notaries public in Yukon.
