Dealing with Different Crimes

Victim Services

Impaired Driving

Not all car accidents are the result of a crime. However, impaired driving is a crime.

So if you have been injured by a driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if you have been affected by a death or injury caused by an impaired driver, you are a victim of a crime.

Victim Services can provide you with emotional support and information. If the incident was a serious offence, the case may go to criminal court and we can help you understand the process and provide you support.

People who have witnessed an impaired driving incident are also considered victims and are welcome to contact us to access our services.

Insurance claims

Insurance claims are a civil matter, not a criminal one. If you are dealing with an insurance claim, Victim Services can refer you to other services for help and information.
