Community Supervision

Offender Supervision and Services provides supervision and support to adults on bail, or serving sentences in the community. Our goal is the safe reintegration of offenders into the community as law-abiding citizens.

Who we serve

  • Adults on bail while they are awaiting trial
  • Adults serving sentences in the community

What we do

Yukon has 10 probation officers who supervise and support offenders in all Yukon communities.


  • Monitor offenders to ensure they are following the conditions of their release or sentence
  • Assess the risk of offenders and make recommendations for sentencing
  • Inform the court when an offender breaches the conditions of their release or sentence


  • Develop case managements plans with offenders to reduce their risk of re-offending
  • Provide rehabilitative Programming that reduces the risk of reoffending
  • Work collaboratively with other departments, First Nations and non-governmental organizations to address the needs of offenders
