Correctional Disciplinary Hearing Adjudicators

  • The Whitehorse Correctional Centre has a panel of hearing adjudicators who hear evidence, make decisions and determine punishment for inmate disciplinary matters.
  • Hearing adjudicators should have experience or an interest in:
    • Fair and objective hearings
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving to resolve disciplinary situations
    • First Nations culture and issues, including the intergenerational impacts of residential school
    • Interpreting and applying legislation and policy
    • Assessing conflicting verbal and written evidence
    • Making decisions in a stressful environment
  • Hearings are conducted during the day – Monday to Friday – on an as when required basis.
  • Training and monetary compensation are provided. First Nations people especially are encouraged to apply.
