2019 Separate confinement instances by days confined

Under a 2009 regulation within the Corrections Act, separate confinement is defined in sections 20, 21, 22 (voluntary) and 28. Segregation is referred to in section 33 as a disciplinary penalty administered by independent hearing adjudicators. All individuals who are separately confined under the above sections retain access to health services, visitors, legal counsel and Elders.
