  • Coroner
    The Chief Coroner investigates unexpected or unnatural deaths and based on the results of the Coroner's Inquest, recommends ways to prevent similar untimely tragedies and save lives.
  • Public Guardian and Trustee
    The Public Guardian and Trustee of Yukon protects the legal rights and financial interests of children, acts as guardian of last resort for adults who have no known relatives or friends to assist them, and administers the estates of deceased and missing persons where there is no known next-of-kin.
  • Investigations and Standards Office
    The Investigations and Standards Office provides independent oversight of the corrections system by responding to inmate complaints, appeals of inmate discipline, and by conducting investigations and inspections as required.
  • Workers Advocate
    The Workers Advocate provides advice and information about the workers' compensation process, the meaning and effect of compensation claims and can assist or represent a worker when negotiating a claim.
  • Yukon Police Council
    The Yukon Police Council ensures that citizens have input into policing in the Yukon, provides advice to the Minister of Justice and the RCMP and increases the flow of information between citizens, the Department of Justice and the RCMP.
  • Yukon Review Board
    The Yukon Review Board is an independent panel that deals with cases concerning an accused person who is "unfit to stand trial" or is "not criminally responsible by reason of mental disorder".
  • SCAN (Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods)
    The SCAN unit supports safer communities by investigating and if necessary, shutting down properties that are regularly used for illegal activities.
